Fight shorts take a different stress pattern than any other athletic short — full-extension kicks, ground grappling, and constant hip flexion mean a standard side-slit design tears out at the seam within a few sessions if it's not engineered for it. We cut ours with a four-way stretch woven poly blend and a deep double side-slit reinforced with bar-tack stitching at the stress point, which is where cheaper fight shorts split first. Waistbands use a wide elastic-and-drawstring combination that stays put during scrambles without digging in during extended ground positions. Length sits just above the knee as standard, since anything longer catches during guard passes and anything shorter loses the coverage most gyms and commissions require. We produce both a competition-cut (closer fit, lighter fabric for weigh-in day) and a training-cut (slightly roomier, heavier fabric for daily gym wear), since teams often order both for the same roster. Sublimated branding covers the full panel without cracking at the stretch zones, tested in-house before bulk runs ship.
